Rooney Set To Be Manchester United’s Front Man

If there is one team in the English Premier League that has been very busy during the offseason then it has to be Manchester United. The team has gone and bought a number of well talented players in preparation for the upcoming Premier League season that is bound to kick off on August this year. Among those players who have joined Manchester United include, PSV’s Memphis Depay and FC Bayern Munich’s Bastian Schweinsteiger, Matteo Darmian and lastly and Morgan Schneiderlin,

In addition to just adding new players Manchester United have also released a number of talented players, for instance striker Robin Van Persie who has been sold to Fenerbahce as well as another striker, Radamel Falcao, who moved to Chelsea FC after his loan contract expired. With all those strikers departing, United have been left with one particular force in front f goal and that is non other than England Striker Wayne Rooney.

According to reports by Sky, United’s coach Louis Van Gaal is setting up the team in such a way that Wayne Rooney will be the team’s only striker. In addition to that, there are reports that the striker will also be the permanent captain of Manchester United. This will not be the first time that Rooney ends up being the captain for United, he has captained the team in several occasions including last season where he wore the captain’s arm band very often.

The idea of having Rooney as the lone striker has been welcomed by plenty of football analyst who states that the England striker is good when he is in front of goal and more efficient as opposed to when he is playing as a midfielder or secondary to the main striker.
